Fundraising for the project “Mobility Support for People with disabilities”.

In Vietnam, many people with disabilities have knowledge and skills, but many of them are restricted in their development by barriers from the environment and the society, especially transportation issues. These obstacles make them less travel, less educated, less involved in group activities, less work …
They are not waiting for pity, they should not be despised, they need support!
The project “Mobility Support for People with disabilities” was implemented by the Disability Research and Capacity Development Center because that issue has been understood .
This service started in June 2013 and, as of July 2016, it served more than 37 thousand trips of the more than 50 thousand registered, it met 71% of the registered demands in the inner Ho Chi Minh City.
The project ended at the end of 2016. It means that DRD was no longer receiving money from the donor, but the transportation needs of people with disabilities still is very high. According to DRD estimates, the service will answer the needs of people with disabilities with more than 200 thousand km in 2017.
The musical night "AN HALF IS FOR ME" was held to raise funds to support this meaningful project of DRD.
We wish that through professional music and performance, people with disabilities can show talents, express their feelings of passion and dedication; through the music, , the audience will feel the magic of this art, conducive to share.
It is estimated that for every 1 km, DRD will have to spend 4,000 VND, including driver's salary and vehicle maintenance, gasoline ... When there is no donor, people with disabilities agree to share this expense with DRD. But because of low incomes, many people with disabilities have stopped using the service.
So with each music ticket worth 180,000 VND, you will give a hand and say “AN HALF IS FOR ME” as about 60,000 VND of each ticket will add a 15 km-trip into the Mobility Support for People with disabilities Fund.
